Winning a silver medal at the Olympics has fired up Luca Devoti for a bid to win the Finn Gold Cup this year. Talking to madforsailing at the London Boat Show, where he is busy promoting the single-handed Musto Skiff, the eccentric Italian said: "I’m not going to sail a geriatric boat like the Star. I am the same age as Steve Redgrave, but as long as I am fit I will race with the boys in the Finn."
He will also be busy with a new joint venture between Devoti Sailing in Essex and Nautivela in Italy to produce a new Devoti-Nautivela 470. Paolo Portiglia at Nautivela has many years of experience in 470 production and together with Tim Tavinor from Devoti Sailing they are able to share their technical and innovative skills to create a durable and fast boat.

The new Devoti-Nautivela 470 is being built in Italy, and so will be well placed for customers travelling to pre-Olympic regattas in Athens over the next four years and for European regattas.
