Olympic Gold medallist Shirley Robertson has signed up with Ian Botham’s sports management agency, Mission Logistics. The move comes a day after she was crowned World Sailor of the Year at a ceremony in Edinburgh, during the ISAF annual general meeting.
A month ago, Robertson told madforsailing she was considering taking on an agent to handle her affairs, as she confessed to being run off her feet with public engagements since her triumphant return from Sydney. She is, for instance, lined up to make an appearance on the BBC sports comedy quiz, They Think It’s All Over.

Now the Fulham-based agency Mission Logistics will be helping Robertson manage her affairs alongside other sports stars such as Pat Cash, Barry Mcguigan, Liam Botham and Richard Dunwoody.

Ian Botham, launched Mission Logistics in January 2000. Duncan March, managing director of Mission, said, 'We are thrilled to welcome Shirley on board, we look forward to representing her on a global scale.'

Her next sailing engagement is the Rolex Women’s World Match Racing Championship in St Petersburg, Florida, at the end of November. As to whether this is the beginning of a new Olympic campaign, however, Robertson will not yet say.
