Creighton's Naturally rescued by Spanish coastguard

Hopefully a happy ending to the story as the former Whitbread maxi's owner flies out to assess the damage

The Spanish coastguard has salvaged the former Whitbread maxi boat Creighton’s Naturally, after her crew were forced to abandon her in a storm on Tuesday night.
Now lying, broken but very much afloat, in the port of Gijon on the northern coast of Spain, the boat’s owner Stuart Bowen-Davies told madforsailing he planned to fly down on Friday to see the boat and assess the damage. 'It has been a Spanish Bank Holiday,' he said, 'so it has been very hard to get any information about the state of the boat, but I am hopeful we can have her up and running again.'
