Cavale Blue leads One Ton Cup

Irregular results in shifty conditions in St Tropez

The outcome of the One Ton Cup for the six IC45s remains far from certain going into the final day of racing in St Tropez. The one thing there hasn't been so far in this regatta is consistency. Those who are first in one race, suddenly are last in the next and this has been a feature of the intensely close racing.

Today the wind has once again been very shifty, making for a highly tactical battle between the crews.

Glyn Williams' Wolf team with Glyn Williams with Tim Powell at helm won the first race ahead of George Andreadis' Atalanti X, who then won the second race today. In the final race of the day, K-Challenge Two tasted her first victory.

In the second race there was an intense battle between the two former America's Cup skippers Dawn Riley and Paul Cayard. After leading the race Dawn Riley finished second to Cayard, at the helm of Atalanti.

Outstanding protests today are K-Challenge One against Cavale Bleue and K-Challenge Two v Atalanti X... At the time of writng we are still awaiting the jury's decision, but the result may see Cavale Bleue lose her first place to K-Challenge One.

The sun is expected to return tomorrow, although the Mistral is also expected to blow.

Results after 6 races:

1 - Cavale Bleue - FRA 18043 - Duquenne / Péponnet
2 - K-Challenge One - GER 7331 - Kandler / Riley-Fédensieu
3 - Atalanti X - GRE 46 - Andreadis / Cayard
4 - Wolf - GBR 45R - Williams / Powell
5 - K-Challenge Two - FRA 18831 - Kandler / Charbonnier
6 - Grooverdeci - USA 46950 - Demourkas / Larson
