Sunday May 25th 2003, Author: Kate Jennings, Location: Italy
With the afternoon sea breeze established as a 12-14 knot southeasterly and a racing zone as flat as a pancake, the regatta of the Città di Rimini lived up to all expectations.

At 1400 conditions were perfect off the Marina de Rimini for the two mile reaching legs for the two boat match races between the 60ft trimaran fleet.

The first semi-final took place with Challenge Mondial winner Groupama lining up against Sodebo, with the latter 60ft trimaran taking victory. The second semi-final saw Jean le Cam's Bonduelle winning against Sergio Tacchini skippered by Karine Fauconnier.

Fauconnier subsequently went on to beat Groupama in the petit-finals while in the finals the line up of the sisterships Sodebo and Bonduelle, saw le Cam take victory by 36 seconds and was rewarded for his efforts with a cheque of 5 000 Euros presented by the town of Rimini. Sodebo in second place won 3 000 Euros and Sergio Tacchini 2 000 Euros.
