Nominations open for Skandia Cowes Week Ladies Day Trophy

Ladies Day @ Skandia Cowes Week 2006 is being launched in celebration of women in sailing and will take place on Thursday 3rd August. More women than ever now compete at the regatta - in fact, around a third of the 8,000 competitors at last year's event were female.

As part of the Ladies Day celebrations, Cowes Combined Clubs is introducing the Skandia Cowes Week Ladies Day Trophy. Based on a straightforward nomination process, any female competing at Skandia Cowes Week 2006 may be nominated for their outstanding contribution, commitment or achievement in sailing (in general terms, not just at Skandia Cowes Week).

In order to nominate yourself, or to put someone else forward for nomination, simply complete and submit the form on the Skandia Cowes Week website here. Nominations will be reviewed by an Event panel and shortlisted to five, all of whom will be invited to join an exclusive post-racing Ladies Day Champagne Reception and prize giving at which the Trophy winner will be announced.

Nominations will be open until midday on Fri 28th July.
