Entries are pouring in for the regatta which attracts a full range of sailing and racing abilities, from crack crews in Class A’s IRC division through the Class B 'Handicap Nationale' cruiser racers, to Class C’s family rally enthusiasts who get to pursue a Treasure Hunt on their first day at the event.
Apart from this attraction, there are three days of full-on racing courses in the Solent, managed by the more than experienced Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, and classes will be split in two according to their ratings to give fair racing to all.
This year features the Jungle Ball, and if previous years are anything to go by, there promises to be a dramatic array of musical fancy dress characters. A whole host of prizes are to be presented courtesy of Raymarine, UK Sailmakers, Musto, Ancasta and Dubarry.
The regatta will take place from 17-19 August. Entries are being received from all corners of the UK and beyond, and will continue to be accepted until 48 hours before the event begins.
There are many ‘Bénéteau Cups’ held around the world for owners, but the UK Cowes event was the first, is by far the biggest, and set to keep growing.
