Extreme Bar and Race Village - a new feature of Cowes Week and the iShares Cup

The iShares Cup returns to Cowes Week from 1-3 August, with an all-new Extreme Bar and Race Village open to the public throughout the iShares Cup and Cowes Week itself. On Egypt Point, just minutes along from The Green, the Extreme Bar offers free entry and panoramic spectator views of the Solent racecourse. It will be open daily from Friday, 31 July to Saturday, 8 August between 11am-8pm, plus special late opening (until 11pm) on Monday, 3 August for the iShares Cup finale with BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank, and Friday, 7 August for Cowes Week's famous fireworks night.

Rob da Bank, Radio 1 DJ and founder of the Isle of Wight’s famous Bestival music festival, is to play a special set at the iShares Cup closing party on Monday 3rd July at the Extreme Bar from 8.30pm to 10.30 pm. Entry is free, but numbers will be limited -register for tickets at www.iSharesCup.com/cowes

The iShares Cup Race Village features a fully stocked bar, serving food, hot drinks and ice-creams, and is the perfect spot to get an up-close view of the Extreme 40s racing in the iShares Cup, or all the Cowes Week action.

During the iShares Cup live commentary and on-the-water interviews from Cowes Radio’s famous Dick Johnson and Steve Anscell will be broadcast across the race village. Every day after racing there will be a prizegiving at the iShares Cup Race Village and on-stage interviews with the Extreme 40 skippers.
