The Women's Open Keelboat Championship (WOKC) 2010 sponsored by Coffin Mew LLP will take place this weekend - 24 and 25 July, hosted by the Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble. Organised by the Royal Southern Yacht Club (RSnYC) working with Jody Slater, Emma Beagley and Sophie Docker, this is a girls' weekend for sailors - crews will be 100% women, while the men will be on the committee boat, driving RIBS and in the bar for the party in the evening.-
Racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday in three classes : J80s, IRC 1 and IRC 2 with prizes for first, second and third overall in the Championship, plus the winners and runners up in each class.
Taking place on Saturday evening from 7pm will be the Frocks and Flip-Flops party at the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble, including a barbeque, raffle and dancing for only £16.50pp. Contact the Royal Southern Yacht Club or visit their website on: www.royal-southern.co.uk to purchase tickets.
This year, WOKC will once again be supporting Breast Cancer Care, and money raised from the raffle will be donated to them. Prizes include a host of sailing, food and beauty goodies.
