After highly successful racing seasons in 2010 and 2011, Southampton-based Sailing Logic has announced that the Malta Tourism Authority has again renewed their commitment to the Reflex 38 yacht, Visit Malta Puma and its teams of amateur sailors, for the 2012 racing season.

Visit Malta Puma is the most successful sailing school boat ever in the UK, and this partnership has evolved as a direct result of the yacht’s consistent racing success over several years, and in particular when she was awarded the prestigious accolade of RORC Yacht of the Year in 2009.

There are many synergies between the Malta Tourism Authority’s objectives and Sailing Logic’s activities; not least that Malta hosts one of the World’s premier offshore racing events – the Rolex Middle Sea Race, where Sailing Logic teams also compete.

The Malta Tourism Authority has identified that the sailing community represents exactly the demographics to which they are keen to promote Malta as a tourist destination – both in the UK and Ireland.

Alex Incorvaja, Director UK and Ireland, Malta Tourism Authority enthuses: "We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Sailing Logic for 2012, especially as the yacht will be competing again at the Round Ireland Race in June and Cork Week in July, a perfect fit for our marketing initiatives this year. Visit Malta Puma’s iconic red spinnaker, proudly displaying a huge white Maltese cross and her distinctive hull graphics will showcase Malta in this Olympic year of sport."

Allie Smith, Managing Director of Sailing Logic comments: “We are very flattered and thrilled to be supported by another country! This sponsorship enables us to invest further in Visit Malta Puma, keeping her competitive at high profile events whilst helping us to continue to attract newcomers to our sport through our unique race-training programmes’.

This year Visit Malta Puma’s extensive racing calendar starts with the Warsash Spring Series on Sunday 18th March on the Solent.
