34th America's Cup LIVE - watch races six and seven here
So will Ben Ainslie be replacing John Kostecki as tactician on Oracle Team USA, after the British Olympic hero was spotted in the role as the defender was out training yesterday? All will be revealed later.
While the 'foiling tack' at the leeward gate in Tuesday's race 5 possibly wasn't the smartest call- lightweight boats of any kind tend to come to a grinding halt if they're thrown into a 180deg turn, sadly it looks like the unfortunate Kostecki may have become the scapegoat for the Oracle AC72 being plain off the pace upwind during Tuesday's race.
Can the defender remode its AC72 suitably in time for today's race to be able to take on the impeccible Emirates Team New Zealand? Certainly Oracle is in the ball park speed-wise, is faster reaching and capable of being first to the reaching mark. Perhaps what is needed from there is more good old fashioned match racing to prevent the slippery Kiwis from getting past... While the Kiwis are the class act of this event and at this stage deserve to win the 34th America's Cup, it would be a shame for the competition if their victory over Oracle was a complete annihilation.
