Transas back JOG
The race, which is now approaching its 3rd decade, attracts scores of yachtspeople from across the country with its tradition of combining an exciting weekend trip with a competitive and challenging race.
This year’s race will see an estimated 400 people participate, with more than 50 yachts racing across the channel from Cowes to Cherbourg on the morning of Friday 18th April.
The fun really starts on arrival at Cherbourg, where participants can enjoy an evening with their fellow racers at the Cherbourg Yacht Club followed by a Drinks Party midday Saturday and the opportunity to spend the day visiting the town.
The race continues on Sunday morning, with all teams setting off for the return race to Cowes. JOG Secretary, Peter Chartres commented, “this has to be one of our most popular races, everyone has a fantastic time during and after the race, and I’m sure this year will be no exception”
The race will feature 3 classes, with the overall winner of each class scooping first prize of Transas Nautic’s NaviGator Pro software and large chart folio.
There will also be a second prize for each class of a NaviGator Standard with small chart folio and 3rd prize of Transas Nautic’s Weather Wizard.
