Wind shuts down for Figaro sailors in Generali Mediterranee

Sunday June 22nd 2003, Author: James Boyd, Location: Italy
Following yesterday's disappointing lack of a result when the wind closed down before any of the singlehanded Figaro sailors had a chance to finish, the wind this morning had still failed to establish itself.

Today the Figaro sailors were due to set off to Hyeres for another coastal race counting for 2x in the overall scorings.

With no wind forecast and risking the schedule to be disrupted, the race committee elected to get the boats to motor back to Hyeres. As a result many of the sailors chose to get their shore teams to deliver the boats as they caught up on some much needed rest taking the rather easily and faster route back to Hyeres by car.

Windward-leewards are scheduled to take place off Hyeres at 1400 tomorrow.
