Challenge Business today announced that it would further its commitment to the official race charity - Save the Children, by assembling a consortium of eight leading organisations to support a 'Team Save the Children' yacht in the Global Challenge 2004/05 round-the-world yacht race. Basilica Computing - a leading UK based IT solutions provider, is to be the first consortium member and will take a lead in attracting other companies to join.

Sir Chay Blyth, Executive Chairman of Challenge Business commented: "So far, the three Global Challenge yacht races have raised over £2.5 million for Save the Children, which works tirelessly for children all over the world. This will be the third time that one of the Global Challenge yachts carries the Save the Children name and we're absolutely delighted to have Basilica Computing onboard as the first corporate supporter of Team Save the Children. The yacht will provide a unique set of commercial benefits to the participating companies, whilst promoting the Save the Children name around the world".

Nick Gorringe, Managing Director of Basilica Computing Ltd said, "we are proud to be able to support this fantastic charity over the coming months. Save the Children is a dedicated, professional organisation that we will be taking to the heart of our business.

"We're also very excited at Basilica about the commercial opportunities which the race will present. We expect to use the event to further our business relationships with key clients and prospects, while also engaging our employees and strategic business partners."

With Save the Children organisations in 29 countries, known collectively as the International Save the Children Alliance, Save the Children is providing support for fundraising around the world, particularly along the Race route. Working closely with Race organisers, Challenge Business, Save the Children is building partnerships with crew volunteers and race sponsors.
