The incident is not putting boat or the crew in any and they are able to continue while making good speed.

Assistance is allowed in the Barcelona World Race, so Michel Desjoyeaux and his co-skipper François Gabart will make stopover in Recife on the east coast of Brazil.

In the meantime the Mer Agitee shore crew will manufacture a spare part and bring it to Recife to rebuild the low part of the stem of the boat.

According to the estimates and depending upon the weather envisaged, Foncia should reach Recife around Friday 14 January during the day.
