London 2012 day 5: Magnificent day for the Brits
Women’s Match Racing
In the Women’s Match Racing the round robin is almost complete with half the boats now having sailed all ten races with some left to complete. The young Australian team of Olivia Price, Nina Curtis and Lucinda Whitty remain unbeaten, followed by the Russians and Spanish, Ekaterina Skudina’s team still to line up with the Danes.
Lucy Macgregor’s team is on five wins out of nine race, with the Dutch still to sail.
Finland’s Silja Lehtinen said they went quite well today with a 1-0 leaving on five wins in ten races. “We had a really tough race with Ekaterina Skudina’s team and we almost rolled her into the finish line but they were able to hold us outside of the line. And against the New Zealanders we got a better start and led comfortably at the top mark and held our lead to the finish.”
